~ dimanche, décembre 01, 2002 ~ I just returned from a camping trip all weekend... It was interesting... I was in the middle of the Mojave desert and let me tell you, it is one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen. The mountains and the valleys were glorious!!! As with the sky, painted with deep, dark blues combined with a sort of plum-colored hue and with clouds that misted from the mountaintops... which were sprinkled with soft, white snow caps. And last night, oooohhh I was really wowed... The stars came out... all of them! There were infinite little lanterns from afar... graciosly twinkling little things that make you think about your spot in the universe. I was awe-struck and breathless by these magnificent views... whew! I can still sense the scent of rain mist. Many people see the desert as this place of dry, ugly, dusty, heat. That may be so in the summertime but in the near-winter, whew! It is just beautiful. I have just one thing to say right now...~ jeudi, novembre 28, 2002 ~ This Thanksgiving... I am thankful for everybody who has ever touched my body, my mind, my heart. To all my special pals, buddies, friends, confidantes, I love you and I shall never forget the times we share! To my enemies, thank you. To my family, thank you. To my teachers, thank you. My most special thank you goes to GOD... Thank You for our Daily Bread, Thank You for Your Kindness, Your Gifts, Your Presence, Your Help. Thank You!!! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! Haha!!! Wow... I'm in such the best mood today!!! I was in charge of the turkey and I feel sooo proud of myself! That, I must admit, is the bestest culinary masterpiece that I have ever achieved!!! Thank you Mr. Gobbles (haha, I named the turkey)!!! It was sooo moist and juicy on the inside (no, not damp). The outer layer of the turkey was crisp and crunchy. I used Thyme, Rosemary, and other herbs, as well as fruit rinds. But the best part was roasting it with FRENCH WINE!!! It was sooo sweet and the drippings were placed in the gravy and mmm!!! I think I'm hungry again... haha... I have never actually made the main course of a meal before but... wow, haha!!! I hope everybody's feast went splendidly also!!!~ mercredi, novembre 27, 2002 ~ Wow! It has been a rather good weeklong vacation so far... Oh! Did everybody know? Shazia came down from Berkeley yesterday!!! How wonderful! It's too bad I didn't get to speak to her along with everybody else... I had to go serve my stupid detention. Thank goodness Irene let me off early though. Anyway, yeah, Shazia looks fantastic! Thank goodness, college hasn't changed her too much! Gee, when I go off to college, I would love to come back to DHS from wherever I go and see some of the people I would dearly miss. I'll pick up and bring a couple of friends with me and we'll road trip on down to my alma-mater. That'd be fun. Hmmm... YES!!!!!!!!!!!! I finally completed and submitted my University of California applications a few minutes ago!!! Now I can relax!... for the time being... until I find out whether or not I've been accepted. But that's not until next year... Allow me worry about financial aid first... I think it would, however, be quite fun to go on a search for money for to pay for college... It's a quest for scholarships. Well, my mind is tired and so now, I shall partake in slumber... Tallyho!~ lundi, novembre 25, 2002 ~ Here I am again, live from Duarte High School Computer class... where a plan to have "free time day" has gone awry. In an interview with Mr. Kennedy, I asked, "How does it feel to be taken advantaged of?" His response, "It feels pretty good." There you have it, it feels pretty good. Broadcasting live from Computer Applications 104, this is Benjamin Catabas, back to you Benz.
