It was Duarte or bust but I'm finally home for the holiday!!! I arrived here at around 8:12 in the morning after leaving Davis yesterday at around 8:32 in the evening. The train ride was awesome and the drive was awesomer. The stars scintillated magnificently in the night- zillions of them! And this morning, the sunrise in the painted desert was absolutely gorgeous! Still, I'm glad to be home with my family and friends.

Tomorrow, I'll be returning to my hometown for the first time in three months! Davis to Duarte. I'm taking the amtrak to San Francisco and from there, driving down with my aunt. I've never ridden on a train before so this is all a new experience to me. I'm going to act like such a little kid when I ride the train... I hope to get a window seat!
Thanksgiving is going to be wonderful again this year! I'm preparing the roasted turkey (btw, the secret to a juicy turkey is brining!) and I have a new poultry recipe to try.
Next quarter and such, I'm going to start cooking in the downstairs kitchen. I'll use my roommates as taste testers, hehehe. I probably can't beat Eve's culinary reputation in the dorm though.
I don't know whether or not I should bring a television from home. I'm afraid that my roommates will spend more time here, hehe, not that I don't like them or anything, they're chouette and all but seeing the same people everyday can be hecka mind-oogling. Plus, a television may totally kill the atmosphere I have going for my room. But hopefully, it will attract more visitors- the tourism industry in Room 303 is suffering.
Anyway, this is a very dry post so I'll post again over the weekend. For now, I'll leave you all with a thanksgiving thought...
