I just hate it when I'm soo hungry & I think that my rice is cooking... but it turns out that I forgot to push the "cook" button on the rice cooker and half an hour later, it's still wallowing in lukewarm water. sigh*
So while I'm waiting for this rice to cook, I figure I might as well blog.. even tho I have a midterm due tomorrow. You know in Tagalog, we have two main words for rice: bigas refers to rice that is uncooked and kanin is rice that is cooked. I guess it's sortof like the difference between "pork" & "pig".
Went to the Davis Farmer's Market today with Leslie, Laura, & Arnell. We tried some salmon, pondered the dynamics of deep-fried twinkies, & munched on tasty but expensive corn dogs. In fact, we sat on the grass and didn't get up for 2 hours... conversation is a gift from heaven. That's my idea of a good chill session. I miss having good long conversations with people... deep convos expecially, but light ones are wonderful too..
It's always a treat when Arnell is around... there's always something to talk about or somewhere to go. Leslie, I never talked to very much until now. She's very funny... easygoing.. very friendly. And Laura M is awesome too.. I can't believe I never talked to her before... it's amazing how much she reminds me of myself sometimes.

Introvert mode!! Yeah, I get into that a lot, especially when I'm with people I don't know but who know each other. I love meeting new people... but getting to know them can be hard because it usually involves them getting to know me... and opening up has not been my habit... altho I'm trying to change that before the new schoolyear... it takes a whole lotta "finding myself" and stuff.. but it's happenin.

You know what my favorite part of a corndog is? ...The crunchy batter at the halfway-point of the stick... they need to make corndogs without the dogs and the rest of the batter... just the crunchy half-burnt batter on sticks. mmm
