Well now thank goodness class semi-finals are over. I hope I passed them all. Aww, did you all hear that Miss Key is leaving? It's soo sad the reason for her leaving too. Poor Miss Key. Poor poor Miss Key. And she was voted Best New Teacher. Hmmm... we'll miss her.
I visited my physician yesterday. Bad news for me. I have to get some tests done in the laboratory. They say i'm becoming more and more anemic. Lately I've been feeling dizzy and not in that fun sortof way eithre hehe. Hmm... I've been feeling faint too. Very not-so-good feelings.
So anyway, I don't know what else to blog about. Umm... this morning, I went on a five-mile hike up the mountains. Whoo, it was a spectacular view. I saw Downtown Los Angeles from up there. They say that when there is no smog, one can see all the way to Catalina Island from there. I think that's true because I remember mountain hiking in Catalina during the evening and seeing Los Angeles lights from the top of the island mountains. It really is a spectacular thing to see. Some of you may enjoy it and i recommend it. Anyway, I met some people while hiking and they educated me a bit about the plant and wildlife. I learned about wild cucumbers and a minty weed used to make candy and tea. Oh, and I saw two 'red-tailed falcons' hunting sparrows. Twas very interesting.
Have you ever noticed how teens act around other teens of the opposite sex? It's very humourous in a way. I was taking a walk after my hike and noticed that a group of active males, when introduced into the presence of active females, become inactive and vice versa. Silence strikes and both representatives of opposite sexes become very very very aware of each other. Both groups begin to talk amongst themselves as the males slowly pass by. Then both groups look back in awe once they have passed. Something about the way opposite sexes act around each other. Same happens in Church when it comes time to wish people "Peace Be With You". There's always hesitation in shaking each other's hands. The guys can shake other guys' hands easily but replace one with a girl and they pretend not to see and totally avoid the handshake all together. Just a little evident observation.

The highlights of the Winter Formal evening included Lisa, in her delightful Bennet-style dress; Yesenia, in her absolutely fab-u-lous diva gown; Katrina, in her Printemps Spectacular soir dress; Molly, in her stylishly fun party dress; Gurpreet, in her lavish chik noir evening mode; Justin, porting his sharpe slate-hint tuxedo; Sonya, in her modishly classy evening ensemble; Fatima, in her gracefully elegant-belle soiree dress; Andréa, in her beautifully darling precious evening robe; Roberto, in his intrestingly unique stylish ensemble; Maridelle, in her stunning robe de soir; Carlos, in his charmingly polished tuxedo; and many many more compliments of the Winter Formal Collection 2003: "A Starlit Night"

Ok, Winter Formal was fun! I mean, I guess it wasn't spectacular but it was certainly extraordinary! I'll always remember it and keep it close. Ok, so for those of you who missed out, here's... "WINTER FORMAL: Through the Eyes of benjamin"
We started off the night wonderfully. Walking down the red carpet with a ghetto-sign daying "Duarte High School", I could barely make out Maridelle's silhouette in the oddly heated photograph veranda. Lisa and Sonya arrived a bit later than I, which was a complete shock because I thought that they would be there before I. Anyway, we went in as a group with our fashionably-late entrance and seated ourselves next to the food. haha... There was a gazebo with a view overlooking the lake and ducks. It was really nice. Anyway, we took a lot of pictures! Ohh, I sooo hope that those pictures come out. We were constantly going back and forth to and from the gazebo and the photo veranda through the court. Haha, Maridelle tried to cut through the grass and bypass the court but security stopped her. Anyway, some memorable moments from last night: picture-taking, "ballroom dancing" in the gazebo, a very alluring belly dance, stealing centrepieces, and just being there together.
After the formal, we took an hour drive and passed through almost every city in the tri-county area. We passed Downtown LA, and ended up in Burbank, en route to Sacramento. haha... it was fun though we were a bit tired. Some of us went to Denny's afterwards (A DHS tradition). Remarkable... absolutely. I am soo looking forward to Prom!!!
